RESEARCH FACILITIES

We have developed or have access to various research facilities:

GREENHOUSES: We use two greenhouses for performing behavioral and genetic experiments, and maintaing larval host plants. The greenhouses are approx. 1,100 sq. ft and 700 sq. ft. in size. These greenhouses are climate-controlled. More details are coming soon ...

RESEARCH COLLECTION: We maintain a small research collection of specimens that we have collected on our field trips. This collection is used for our phylogenetic, population genetic, taxonomic and other evolutionary and ecological research. Read more ...

FIELD STATIONS: NCBS manages and/or funds several field stations across the country in collaboration with other academic and research institutions. These field stations are available for our community, collaborators and other researchers for any field research projects. We have ongoing research projects on biodiversity surveys, mimicry dynamics, conservation ecology, insect migrations, etc., at our field stations.

WET LAB: We have a wet lab fully equipped to perform PCR and sequencing of biological materials for our ecological and evolutionary work. We also have microscopes and other facilities for developmental genetics work. Images of our facilities, and information on the protocols, are coming soon ...

CORE FACILITY: NCBS has state-of-the-art facilities for genetic, genomic, developmental and chemical ecological analyses. These facilities are on campus in NCBS labs as well as in our next-door sister institute, C-CAMP. Read more ...

More information about these resources and research facilities will be added on this page shortly, so visit again. In the meantime, you may want to check information on facilities and infrastructure at NCBS.
